Is there anybody out there? A couple of months ago my husband could not eat anything due to it causing abdominal pain and retching. At first we were told it was stomach flu, etc. But after various other tests a CT scan was done which revealed he had a large growth that had blocked his colon. Unfortunately when they operated they could not remove any of it because a) it had ‘gone too deep’ b) adhered front and back (not sure what that meant) and c) there were several secondary nodules in his peritoneum, so they just did an ileostomy so that at least he can eat again! His biopsies were referred to a specialist team at a hospital who I understand can perform some pretty drastic surgery with heated chemo (?). Anyway they have just told the hospital to give him a 3 month course of treatment and then to do another CT scan to see what effect, if any, the chemo has had. We have been told his cancer is advanced, aggressive and fast growing. None of this sounds very encouraging to me! I am really scared about what the future holds!!
