CIN3

So I recently had a biopsy and got my results back today that I have CIN3 pre cancerous cells.. I understand it's not cancer and from what I've gathered from google (I know I shouldn't google stuff but I couldn't help it) CIN3 is basically pre cancerous cells found on the full cervix and thickness. And for the next stage I think the case is that I'm going to have the loop treatment and then they send it off for another biopsy and then I will have a repeat colposcopy to make sure everything clear. I'm just scared crazy about the fact of it retuning and ended up having to have a hysterectomy and not being able to have kids as me and my partner are looking on having more children in the future I understand risks are quite low for affecting pregnancy's and if it clears up after the loop surgery it should all be ok but  has anyone had CIN3 and loop treatment and has had a baby with everything going ok?
reallt could do with some reassurance as my appointment isn't for another 2 weeks and it's gonna drive me mad thinking about it constantly.
thanks for reading

  • Hello Saucy123

I'm sorry to hear that your recent results have come back showing you have CIN3 and need some treatment.

It's understandable that you have lots of questions about treatment and what it may mean for the future.

Jo's Trust have lots of information available on their website about cervical cell changes. They also have a support helpline and I'm sure that if you give them a call they will be able to answer some of your questions and give you some reassurance.

I hope that all goes smoothly at your appointment.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi, I also just got my biopsy results today with CIN3 with the LLETZ in 2 weeks.  I'm nervous and scared about it all.  I'm 44 and have two young adult boys so I'm just worried about the treatment.  Hopefully someone will come along to give you some reassurance about having children after treatment.
    Best wishes,

    Mel. X

  • Hi Saucy123,

I know I'm not quite the same as you but my biopsy came back as CIN 2, moderate dyskaryosis in 2003 and had the abnormal cells zapped with the loop treatment and all smears from that point were all good. When I was ready to start a family, I did and my daughter came along in 2016. I hope that helps! X
