Diagnosed with dcis

Just been diagnosed with dcis last week.

My mind is a mess, and I go from thinking it's all ok, only a pre cancer to the worst case scenario..

I have already had a lump taking out of 7mm which they were convinced was benign so when I went back for the results the shock was awful.

They say it's in a tiny area, apparently they can tell this from the mammogram, but want me to have an MRI before the next op to remove the rest. My mind is freaking out as to what they will find on the MRI, what if it's just the tip of the ice berg?? I asked them was there a chance it could be something bigger they seemed confident it wouldn't be.. but can't help panicking.

Has anyone has this where a tiny area was found initially but turned out to be more?

Hi Jessie,

I hope all goes okay with your second op and mri. My lumpectomy for DCIS is on the 10th and it was also a shock diagnosis as everyone seemed to think it was benign prior to my biopsy results :( so know exactly how you are feeling x

Hi, good to meet you, our stories are nearly identical, I didn't feel my original lump tho, it was found with an ultrasound and thought it was a fibroadenoma, were you diagnosed by biopsy?
Having an MRI next week and freaking out, are you having one?
