Finally had my diagnosis

I've had a lump on my collar bone since NOVEMBER and i've only just had my results from a biopsy i had three weeks ago, got convinced it was just TB since they told me it's most likely yet it's bloody hodgkin's lymphoma, my mental health is not well enough to be going through this rn

  • Hi - I too had a lump above my collarbone and just been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma - diagnosed 2 weeks ago. I am having my first haematology appointment on Friday morning but I am still waiting for them to tell me what sub type of Lymphoma I have. So it will all come at once on Friday. The prognosis for Hodgkins and Non-Hodgkins is pretty good. How old are you? I am 56 which is actually quite young for this as most are over the age of 60. My lump goes up and down and is very bizarre but I think I will be offered chemo to zap it and get rid of it. I wasnt sure about chemo but if its an aggressive lymphoma then can probably cure it. Please try not to worry - this may not be the approach for you but I have read and researched about lymphoma and feel confident that i will be okay after the chemo. You must be positive and keep up any exercise that you do especially walking - it will keep everything flowing and help your immune system. I hope you have family and friends that can help talk it through with you. Take care.

  • Hi ! :))

It's absolutely crazy, someone I knew from school also has it and has recently been diagnosed with it, something is definitely going around haha, and i'm 18, almost 19 :). All I know is that it's only on my collar bone and I havent really had much health issues apart from my weight loss, so i'm not necessarily scared to start treatment, but mentally I think it's going to be so hard. I'm having my first consultation in the next few weeks at the latest, not too sure when or what sub type I have either. I hope everything goes well for you though love, we got this <3

  • Gosh you are so young! Yes we got this. Although I am a fair bit older than you, goodness knows why I have it. I dont smoke, drink, I eat good food (obviously junk food too but not a lot), do loads of exercise. So it just proves you can do everything to protect yourself from the nasties of life but you can still get struck down. Being fit and strong will protect us through the treatment. Positive vibes to you.
