Dad has Stage 3B Lung Cancer

Hi

During lockdown we got told the awful news that my dad has Stage 3B lung cancer.  He was playing badminton 3 times a week just before lockdown but then starting coughing, thought it was a chest infection but to no avail.

He has been having dexamethasone but came off it on Thursday.  Whilst on it he was a different person.  Seemed almost "normal".  He is having radiotherapy and then immunotherapy.  Today he went to have his first session of radiotherapy but was told the CT scan is showing different to the one they have.  We don't quite understand.  He is having to have another CT scan done now and apparently the Oncologist will call later.  Has this happened to anyone else?  Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.  Its the not knowing...

Thanks

  • Hello Emma31

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad's diagnosis and that there seems to have been some kind of confusion about recent CT scan results. Did the Oncologist call to explain what was going on and offer some advice?

If there's anything that you'd like to talk to our nurses about then please do give them a call. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.
    Best wishes,
