Breast cancer diagnosis awaiting CT results

Hi

ive recently been diagnosed with grade 3 triple negative breast cancer. Been told it's invaded at least four lymph nodes. I waited three weeks for CT scan to see if any spread, then unfortunately CT scanner broke. Anyway two weeks later I finally had staging CT.

im due my results this week, and am literally going out of my mind with worry, I'm becoming breathless which is then making me think it's spread to my lungs

forgot to mention I recently started chemotherapy

has anyone got any advice on how to control the anxiety I'm experiencing or if CT shows any abnormality , what may come next ?

thanks A

  • Hi AMil,

I'm very sorry to read about everything that's going on at the moment - I can certainly imagine this must be worrying.

In terms of waiting for the results, some people say it helps to keep busy and to keep yourself distracted to try to take your mind off things. Also remembering to look after yourself and do plenty of things you enjoy or that make you feel calmer - whether it's watching some TV, having baths, or something like meditation (there are various phone apps for this).

Once you get your results, the doctor or specialist will advise on next steps. It's best to wait for further information and then to discuss everything at the point you get your results.

Wishing you all the best and I hope it's not too long to wait to find out more,
