Breast cancer hormone treatments & endometriosis

Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with ER+ invasive ductal breast cancer and had mastectomy and lymph nodes removed (cancer had spread). I have a follow up appointment in 2 weeks to discuss biopsy results/treatment plan but doc mentioned this would likely involve hormone tablets and possibly chemo.  I'm trying to find out more about the tablets as Tamoxifen seems to be the most common, and I'm concerned about the impact that would have on my endometriosis, which has also flared up in recent months with endometriomas on both sides and history of deposits coming back after surgery.  Just wondering if anyone is in same boat and would recommend any particular tablets, or if injections like Zoladex are better?

    Hi Ab1gail,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am so sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis. Everybody reacts differently to hormone tablets and some people have no side-effects at all. I would suggest that your consultant is the best person to discuss this with in in respect of your endometriosis. S/he will have all of your medical notes and know your current state of health, etc and, it should therefore be much easier to decide on the best way forward for you.

This is a horrible stage, waiting for results, but I hope that when you do get them, that they are reassuring.

Do please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
