Multiple Cancer Diagnoses

My husband had prostate cancer last year at the age of 56. After a prostatectomy everything seemed to be going well. His PSA results are still where they should be. A month ago he was diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma after finding a lump in his neck. A PET scan also showed suspicious activity in his bowel and after a colonscopy and biopsy he has now been diagnosed with bowel cancer. He will be having bowel surgery and an illeostomy in the next couple of weeks to be followed by chemotherapy. These all seem to be primary cancers. We can't believe how unlucky we have been for him to be diagnosed with three different cancers within 12 months and the doctors are also very surprised. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

  • Hi JDJ123,

Welcome to Cancer Chat - although I'm very sorry to read what brings you here. This sounds like an incredibly difficult situation, and I'm sure this must all have come as a shock. I hope you're getting on as well as you can be at the moment with all this going on.

I know there's not much I can say at this stage other than that we're always here for support should you need it, and this forum is a safe space to write down any thoughts or worries, and to speak to others who understand.

My reply here will boost your post so more people will see it, and if anyone has any similar experience or thoughts to share then hopefully they'll be along soon.

    Wishing you all the best,
