Skin cancer

Hi I was on a while ago after I found 3 lumps around my knee area I had cancer 4 years ago just below my right knee and had it removed and have a flap scar which is 3cm w by 6cm l

The 3 lumps that were removed 2 are cancerous one was a lymph node  and I'm going back in for more surgery on the 8th of july I have had a full CT scan which thank god came back clear today I am next having a video link with my oncologist about immunotherapy which the Macmillan nurse told me today will be for a year. I don't want to google this as I'm struggling with the fact it is back and I have to isolate so I can't work and don't get sick pay and I think I'm asking for a little help and advice as to what is going to happen next.  My partner is googling the life out of it along with other stuff which bless him he thinks is helping but it isn't.

    Hi Michelle,

I am so sorry to hear that your cancer has returned. I know from experience just how disappointing that is. I expect that your surgery will be similar to what you had last time, but I'm glad to see that you don't have too long to wait for it. Macmillan usually have an information office in most hospitals. They can give advice on any financial benefits you might be entitled to. Your local Citizen's Advice centre can also help with this, but I don't know when they are due to reopen yet.

Try to stop your partner from Googling so much. This will only scare you out of your wits, as much of the information is inaccurate, out of date, poorly researched and aimed at the more spectacular cases.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Michele,

We spoke on your previous post and I have now sent you a private message which I hope will be helpful.
