Sick

Hi everyone,

My husband has been struggleing with food for a little while but with COVID-19 we have found getting gp help hard.

we finally got help and last Wednesday he had a scan and on Friday he had an endoscopy during the procedure they found a 4cm lump in his oesophagus and had a call yesterday confirming they had found a cancer but need to wait for the results so we know what type it is.

I've been finding it difficult to eat at the moment as I have lost my appetite, last night I started being and it is still continueing now I've got no idea what's going on as I was doing okay besides having the odd crying moment.

Has anyone experienced something similar?
We have a 10 year old daughter and I want to be as okay as I can but this has wiped me.

  • Hi Lifes_a_beach,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm very sorry to read about your husband and what you're both going through at the moment. In terms of how you're feeling, perhaps it is a reaction to the stress of the situation. If you're concerned or if things continue like this then do speak to your GP. If you can, try to take some time out for yourself whenever you can. It's important that you can rest and recharge especially given your support for your daughter and your husband at the moment.

If anyone here has experienced something similar then hopefully they'll be along soon.

Take care of yourself and I hope things ease a little soon,

    Ben
