Some advice needed

Hi all my first post here some messages I'm reading are just so amazing

my father in law broke his hip and whilst in hospital they found he has stage 2a lung cancer right upper lobe 5cm tumour left upper lobe 1.6cm tumour it hasn't spread any further but due to his health and being disabled in a wheelchair full time and having copd stage 2 he has been told they will not be treating him so he is reffered to palliative care they won't do a biopsy so we don't even know what type of cancer it is we do know it's non small cell

nobody can give us any sort of a time scale just that we have to look out for more symptoms I need to know how long we have with him even just a rough idea how long do we have from stage 2 to end of life

  • Hi Stephanieba,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm very sorry to read about your father in law. This sounds like a really tough situation and I hope you're getting on OK.

Unfortunately we can't advise on your question - it's only your father in law's specialist or medical team who can do this. If you can, try to find out as much as possible from them so that you can be as informed as possible about what to expect and hopefully the extra information will help.

I hope you're able to find out more about this soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
