Breast Cancer Stage 3

I have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer stage 3 - just had Biopsy on Lymph Nodes now they want to send me for a MRI scan I'm so scared it's spread, 3 weeks ago I was fine fit and healthy so I thought now I just keep thinking of probably only got a couple of years at the most to live.

  • Hi , I tried replying earlier but I'm new to this and don't think it sent! Yes I just wanted you to know that you are not alone, this time last month I too was fit and healthy, going along quietly during lockdown, since then I've found the lump, been diagnosed with a 3cm tumour and found out today it's definitely spread to the lymph node.. surgery planned within the next fortnight to remove both the tumour and all of the nodes under my arm. I don't know what stage this is but I too am terrified it's spread further. I'm not too bad during the day but at night the fear creeps in.. worried about my kids, husband, job, house, everything. Hopefully things will become clearer for both of us soon X

  • Hi there,

I'm in a similar situation to you. I was diagnosed last week with a grade 2 4cm invasive breast cancer in the right breast and also spread to the lymph nodes. They also picked up another DCIS in the left breast. I went for the MRI yesterday and was so worried about it as I'm claustrophobic, but it was absolutely fine... Lots of loud beeps, but if you pretend you're in a club you can make up your own dance music to the beat. I still don't have a clear plan of action, hopefully know more on Friday - there'll definitely be surgery and a full lymph node clearance on the right but no discussion about radiotherapy or chemo yet. Hope you're holding up and managing to stay positive. Here for a chat anytime you need it.

  • Hi, I'm in a similar situation. I was diagnosed with breast cancer almost 2 weeks ago now and I'm due to start chemo this coming Monday. Mine is stage 2, although I'm waiting for second biopsy results to confirm if it's in my lymph nodes or not (first biopsy results were negative, but CT and MRI suggest cancer is there so they're double checking). My tumour is 10 cm, which I guess is why I'm starting chemo before having surgery.
