Husband newly diagnosed with large cell lymphoma

My husband has today been diagnosed with large cell lymphoma it's all a blur they said something about stage 4 and six rounds of chemotherapy and one into his brain I'm terrified I'm going to loose him x

  • Hello Gina74,

I am so sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis. It is normal to feel like it is all a bit of a blur at the moment and that there's a lot for you to take in.

We have information on Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma here which I hope will be useful to you if that is the specific type of Large Cell Lymphoma your husband has been diagnosed with. All this complex information can feel a bit overwhelming so don't hesitate to give our nurses a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 if you would like to talk things through with them. Their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and they will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

I am keeping everything crossed for you that the chemotherapy treatment works well for your husband and I hope he won't have to wait too long to start the first round.

I hope that you will hear from others on the forum who have had a similar diagnosis before and that they will be along shortly to share their story with you.

    Best wishes,

  • Thanks for the reply we've had a few days for it to sink in and have told our children and close friends hubby goes for his pet scan today and will hopefully get a proper prognosis from that we have been sent a book about his diagnosis it says he has high grade lymphoma I'm hoping to convince him to have chemotherapy at the moment it seems like he's given up fingers crossed that if he does go for it it won't leave him too ill he makes a terrible patient at the best of times will update once we get the pet scan results xx
