Cancer returned, transformed to aggressive lymphoma

I'm so sad to say my lymphoma, which was low grade, has returned after 5 years. I had a biopsy which gave me hope it was still low grade - follicular cancer. A Pet/ct scan showed there was more cancer but it is high grade. I find out tomorrow, Tuesday, what treatment they will offer me.

I always knew it would return, as that is the nature of my lymphoma. I was so happy to be in complete remission for so long, I felt well after I had finished R chop and Rituximab.

I'm scared it's transformed, it's thrown me, in shock, and know the next few months will be very up and down.

Just wondering if anyone has experience of the above?

Many thanks

Sara.

  • Hi, I saw doc today at clinic, now told it's not transformed so I'm relieved, a muddle up! Still need chemo,  rituximab and bendamustine, 6 rounds to start 2 weeks time. Hopefully will go well. I feel ok as was so surprised when told it had transformed as I feel well and did not seem to make sense. Anyway , now know what's happening so I can concentrate on the next few months.

Thank you for getting back to me
