Diagnosed with cancer in womb at 24 years old

Hello I recently got dignoised with cancer 2 weeks ago in my uturus and it's been spreading in my muscle. They said it's stage 1B cancer, I had a lot of plans on starting a family soon with help from my gp as I have pcos. I had an appointment with the doctor at hospital and my treatment is limited, he recommended I have a full hysterectomy (tubes, ovaries removed) and of course I don't want that, he's making an appointment for the Ivf clinic to see me to freeze my eggs if I agree to the surgery, I'm already on provera and mirina coil, I have an appointment on Monday with another doctor for another second opinion but what could they actually say if my treatment is limited. I was hoping for chemo or radiotherapy but my cancer is not to extreme. What do I do? :( please help

  • Hi there, I'm not an expert but I am undergoing treatment for womb cancer.  I was shocked to hear I would need a radical hysterectomy and chemo and radiotherapy and brachytherapy.  However I have had my children so that side of it wasn't an issue for me.  I just wanted the cancer out.  The hysterectomy is the recommended "standard" for womb cancer so whatever advice you get about freezing eggs etc before the op is definitely something to consider.  Good luck with your appointment.
