Pelvic radiotherapy

Hi there, I'm new here so please bear with me..! I was diagnosed recently and underwent a bjg op, and only managed to have one chemotherapy which was stopped. Now my oncologist is suggesting 25 pelvic radiotherapy treatments which are to start in a few weeks but I am looking for as much information/experiences as possible to help me decide and put my mind at rest cos I'm scared. That might sound like a strange thing to say but what does it do to your insides!! I know I have been through an op and chemo but this is giving me the jitters. And does anyone know if the cancer did come back, can you have radiotherapy again or only once? Oh, my cancer is endometrial/womb. If anyone has the time to reply I would really appreciate it. Happy Easter everyone.
  • Hi catwhiskers,

I'm sure some of our members who have had this as part of their treatment will share their advice and experiences with you soon but if you'd like to have a chat about this with one of our cancer nurses then do be sure to give them a call on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

We have some information about radiotherapy for womb cancer on our website as well.

I hope this helps and all goes well with your radiotherapy.

    Kind regards,
