Dcis found after lumpectomy

Hi all,

I went to a private hospital after finding a lump (back In Feb) and they did the mammogram, ultrasound and a biopsy to confirm dic.

After my lumpectomy they also found dcis.

I'm really concerned as this was not picked up on the mammogram. Has anyone got any experience with this?

I'm just worried that dcis may be in othe rparta or even the other breast and it has not been picked up.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I hope that you will hear from others here who have had a similar diagnosis and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you.
We have information on our website on DCIS which you can read here. It may be worth sharing your concerns with your consultant when you next have an appointment - they will be able to explain things in detail for you. Do mention that you are worried that the DCIS may also be in the other breast.
