Penile cancer

Could anybody please give me some sort of advice if possible. My husband got diagnosed with penile cancer in February after being rushed to hospital with a very bad bleed coming from a lump in his groin area. We have had the diagnosis but have been told there is no surgical cure all they can do is palliative radiotherapy and minor surgery to remove some of the tumours on the head of the penis to stop the penis retracting and blocking any tubes. I'm at my wits end as we're not even being told what stage it is. Is there anybody that has maybe or knows anybody that has been in this situation that could give some advice please

  • Hello Snazi

I'm so sorry to hear that your husband has been given this diagnosis recently. Penile cancer is rare in the UK but I can see that we do have a few previous posts on the forum from members who have experience with this. You can read them by using the search function (magnifying glass in the blue bar) to look for the term "penile".

We also have some information on our website here which may be of help.
You might find it helpful to give our team of nurses a call. I'm sure that they will be able to offer some information and support. They are available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

    Best wishes,
