My father has had an MRI followed by a biopsy 2 weeks ago, the consultant was quite confident that what he saw on the MRI scan was treatable, when he was having a biopsy the consultant asked my father did he have problems going to the toilet as something had showed up on the MRI, which my father replied no to. He was going to refer him for a CT scan.
Today just before he left for the scan he had a phone call to say that from the biopsy he had an outcome of Gleason score 7 (2 and 5 I think) and his option was surgery or hormone treatment followed by radiotherapy, my father has opted for the latter, he is 74 but in good health despite having bypass surgery about 11 years ago.
The consultant said that whatever showed on the MRI scan is not related to the prostate but I can't help but think are they going to find something else or do they think it had spread.
