Started of as a DCIS and now I’ve been told chemo

October last year I was told I had a low grade DCIS and would have a lumpectomy. Had op and lymph node biopsy. The margins for DCIS not good enough, so had to have second lumpectomy. Lymph node clear. Had second op in December, and results in January came back for margins. Advised to have single mastectomy. Which I did with a DIEP reconstruction 1 month ago. Have now been told precancer margins were 12cm long, but the have found a micronet in one of the 2 sentianl lymph node biopsy.

yesterday I was officially told I have to have chemo and radiotherapy. I have first meeting with oncology on Thursday, just wondered if anyone has been in a similar position. I am parent of a 10yr and 7yr old, plus step mum to a 15yr. Tips all appreciated. I am nervous. I lost my sister in law to breast cancer last June when she was 38. Our stories are different. Determined to be positive.

tips appreciated
