Firstly breath, your brain will be going 900 miles an hour, it's an awful illness to get.

Once you have your results your surgeon with talk you through everything.They are fantastic and will give you the best advice.

Hi there 

Got diagnosed with grade 3 triple positive yesterday morning. Huge shock but slowly starting to process this today. Alternating between tears and getting on with it. Told my family and work yesterday and today and they've been wonderful. Suggested I get a second opinion as well as do some background checking . This is all quite overwhelming.  Got my mri tomorrow. Any tips on how one could go about getting a second opinion ( dont know where to start), what are the best questions to ask and finally any tips on the best coping strategies for what's to come?

Help and I'd be deeply grateful for your suggestions and stay strong everyone! As my doc said to me we will defeat this!!

I didn't ask for a second opinion, but would imagine you would start with your surgeon or oncologist.

I put my trust in my nhs who were fantastic.

I was full of questions,  eg but we're based round what they told me re treatment.

If something comes to mind write it down, nothing worse than leaving and thinking I forgot to ask this or that, no question is a daft question.

Keep busy if you can, I started a journal, I found it very therapeutic, you can rant and rave lol I did a lot in my journal. In fact I just sealed mine and will read it in a few years.

Once you know your treatment plan, it's easier bec you know what's happening, I found that the hardest part

Ahh the lovely chemotherapy

Me personally always had extra strong mints, drank a lot of milk shakes n smoothies, I had bad nausea for the first 5 days of every treatment so didn't eat much didn't fancy it but I made up for it the next few weeks. 

I suffered with bad fatique but only on 5 and 6 chemo.

Everyone is different, you could sail thought it, but don't worry the nurses are amazing and will advise.

You will have good n bad days but remember it does end.
