Lung cancer and blood tests??

Hi their, was wondering if anyone has ever had any abnormal results from a full blood count/thyroid or any blood tests that have came back different before lung cancer diagnosis?

Thankyiu for your time.

  • I really hope you get some answers soon. I've had a dramatic weight loss too. I'm also having neurological symptoms so I'm pretty certain they are going to find something bad. Keep us updated on your husband. Definitely get the moles checked just to be on the safe side. I've been obsessed with checking my moles for years and yet here I am possibly having lung cancer. If only you could detect lung cancer  just by looking in the mirror...if only! Take care hun

  • Hi

Sorry to hear of your partners symptoms. I am experiencing very similar with the pains. It started 4 weeks ago in right shoulder blade and I can now pinpoint and area between there and my spine that is causing the problem. It is a painful burning that radiates down my arm and across my chest at times. Keeps me awake.

I had a CT that was clear so not really getting anywhere. I'm having a bronchoscopy on Tuesday.

I hope his CT is ok. Please let me know. Not seen anyone on here with similar pain issues to me

    Best wishes

    Andrea

  • Sent a friend request sparkles84

I've lost a stone in 8 weeks I needed to lose it but just without all the worry would have been better

  • Thank you for the request. Yeah I lost about 20 pounds since November but a lot of that was not eating due to anxiety. The thing is now I'm facing a terrible diagnosis and I'm eating fine. This is so unlike me and this just proves I have brain involvement. I'm so scared. If I'm anxious or feel like my life is in danger I can't eat and yet here I am able to eat

  • Same symptoms as me Jenny. Best of luck to him today. Will be thinking of you. Xx

  • Thank you, just leaving for the hospital now so fingers crossed !

  • Hi Andrea

Apologies, everythings has been a bit busy lately, now furloughed from work, my grannys funeral was last week - strange times!

Anyeay his CT scan also came back clear -  doctor has now decided might be a muscle thing so given him a strong week course of steroids which he has bwwn taking for 5 days -  not made the slightest difference

his wheezy chest and tingling / burning skin is no better -  if not worse -  so currently still no idea whats going on -  and Doctors keeps ringing as they dont want people in the surgery -  so goodness knows what is the matter!

    How are you?

    Jenny

  • Glad CT was clear. Hope the steroids helps

Mine was clear too as was my bronchoscopy which I asked for. I'm so convinced they have missed something though because I feel so I'll. Original consultant wasn't honest with me about some blood results so if affected my belief in them.

Can you manage ok with the furlough? It's all a bit daunting isn't it. I haven't been driving so my dad has been dropping bits off to us. Going to try and head out this afternoon.

    Take care xxx

  • Hi

yea confusing isn't it when you feel ill and they can't find anything! You'd think it would be obvious - guess you have to cross your fingers and trust them- on the plus side the doctor does seem to be being pro active with it all so that does make it easier than if you have to fight for help , next phone call is Friday so will see what he thinks then,

only on day 3 of furlough and currently loving it , decorating and gardening my head off hahah financially we are lucky and it is fine, so right now it's a treat being off and getting paid even if it is only 80%. Taken a mortgage holiday too so all good .

my parents are both isolating together so now they've worked out Skype it's lovely to keep in touch with them even if it's remote right now,

we have lots of birthdays in April and may so they will be different to normal ,but long as we all come through it safe and well it's all good

keep in touch and let me know how you get on
