I'm back after almost one year after my husbands throat cancer here I am with almost the same thing .. I can't believe it .

i woke up from my appendix operation in August with a sore throat , that sore throat never left me and now here I am with SCC base of tongue . I don't know the staging yet I need a biopsy of my lymph and CT scan tomorrow . 

My tumor only be seen on my MRI , as my biopsy just showed dysplasia .  I hope this is HPV + my husbands wasn't ! 

so last Thursday the oncologist was giving my a husband another 6 weekly all clear and me she said we won't operate we will just do chemo and radio , I guess she was working off my MRI that she was sent electronically as I only just gave her the hard copy.

worst thing for me is knowing what all this involves and I'm not It sure I can do it .

    Oh Ginny am so sorry to see this post from you.  You were so kind to me last year when I had it in the Epiglottis.  Hope everything goes well for you xx

    I'm really sorry you have found yourelf in our club and I guess you have some idea on the road ahead.

    Try and stay as positive as you can and you can do it. We all did it and had to and its amaing the strength you find within yourself to see it through.

    Hey MO

    I know I can believe it . It's a completely different cancer it's on the base of my tongue. I have biopsy on neck lymph and dentist next week so things will become clearer and my treatment sorted out . She said no surgery , but when I look about in America it seems the first thing they do is chop your tongue out ! I'm having nightmares  x x

    Hi I'm so sorry to hear of your cancer. I hope you are well. I'm wondering if you could help me with some advice. I have had a sore throat and earache for around 6 months now. I've been seen by ent and had camara down my nose to see but all was fine, the problem is it's not going away. I feel fobbed off by my gp who I've contacted so many times now. I think I see a lump right at the very back of my tongue, so hard to see but I'm so sure it's there. I get tingling sensation in my tongue on the left with left earache and sore throat when swallowing on the left side. What do I demand for test wise? I'm at my white end now and I need this investigating properly. Thankyou for reading. X
