I have lumps but my mum just got diagnosed with breast cance

Hello,

I am 24 years old and I have had lumps in my breasts for the past 3 years all benign. They are so many and vary in size that the only solution is a mastectomy. The doctors said I am fine to keep them as they have a very low chance of becoming cancerous. I last had them checked this month myb I noticed a lump iny armpit but it turned out to be nothing. It even disappeared after some time. My mum was with me at that appointment.

Recently mum though, she felt a lump in her breast and she went in today to have it checked out. They said it has been there for some time. The person who did the ultrasound confirmed that it was cancerous and they did several biopsies to confirm and also to see if it had spread. She said if it came back negative the biopsy would be wrong and they would have to do a second one. They even told her she would have to start treatment in the next ten days.

I am now scared and wondering if I should go ahead and have a mastectomy to minimize risk. I don't know what to do . Please advise.
