well what can i say when the doctor said you have breast cancer it knocks you for six    i went in there knowing in the pit of my stomache there was something up ,but to actually hear the words totally blew me away  grade 2 invaisive dutal breast cancer to start with ,im still waiting on another result and for them too look at my right boob to see if that needs biopsies  ive already started on hormone tablets and all this waiting is the worst      im not talling my younger 2 children at the moment until i need to   eg hair falling out etc but ill be glad when i know whats happeneing anyone else in the same boat could do with some help

    Hi Figgipudding,

    I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis but you've come to a great forum for information and support. I'm also a noob here...I got my grade 2 diagnosis last week and am still reeling. It's a scary time but so important to try and stay positive. Easier said than done at times, I know!

    Stay strong and positive you two.  I was diagnosed with stage 1 grade 3 breast cancer last July.  Had op to remove lump in August followed with 20 sessions of radiotherapy November/December.  Had my follow up last week.  All clear and discharged.  Now just on Letrozole hormone tablets and calcium supplement.  No hair loss as radiotherapy does not cause this.  Sure your outcomes will be similar so don't get too stressed.  If you need any help in future I am happy to help.

    Sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I too was diagnosed with invasive ductal cancer, grade 3 last September. Six sessions of chemotherapy, followed by mastectomy. No the side effects are not pleasant, however I can't believe how quickly the time has passed. My hair fell out within two weeks of my first chemo session but I got by with a wig and beanie hats.  Did help it's been winter.  My hair is now growing back quite quickly and I'm sporting a lovely fuzz.
