Hi there, my husband is taking these and found his second cycle extremely hard, he slept constantly didnt have any appetite and had a very bad stomach upset. Two weeks in, he was advised to stop, have a break, and then for his third cycle they reduced his dosage by half, so now he takes 750mg twice a day. 
He has tolerated it fantastically since, only having mild pins and needles to hands feet and face, no other side effects at all. My advice is, keep a good eye on mum, and if she seems to be struggling, speak to your oncologist team straight away, so that they can help. Wishing your mum the very best with her treatment and please don't hesitate to come back here for support anytime. 

Hello. I have just found this forum and it's really reassuring. I'm on second three week cycle of capecitabine tablets as well as three weekly infusions in the hospital. This seems to knock me about more.  Not been as bad as expected but feeling really poorly today - same time as after first infusion - so hope it goes away soon. No taste and lost appetite. So feeling rather sorry for myself today. Hopefully feel better in a few days. X

Hi I was on these tablets.3 am and 2 pm.the "funeral director " = doctor take me off after 3 cycles because its apparently damaged my liver so give me vinolrebine tablets.1x weekly and 3 week off.I feel worse then with capecitabine.

Hopefully you tolerate it better and keep your head up as their are always other treatments

Hi Josie I am on my second cycle of this oral chemo and take 10 tablets a day 5 in a morning with or after food and 5 with or after my evening meal .. so far during my first cycle which is two weeks I was a bit nauseous and as I stopped for my 7 days not taking them I had diorrhea for 1 day I also had a tingling sensation in my hands but all this was manageable with anti sickness and loperamide which stopped side affects fast.. I understand your concerns as I was the same but so far so good but remember everyone is different and side effects will differ from person to person ..
