welcome to the chats I have found them very useful! I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in December 2017 and to be honest had never heard of it before. I was given a lumpectomy in January 2018 and then EC chemotherapy and then Paclitaxel chemotherapy. Then 15 sessions of Radiotherapy. To be honest the chemotherapy wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, the fatigue was probably the worst thing. I did lose my hair but it's now grown back as it was. The worst bit is the waiting but you will be in good hands now.

 thanks for your reply much appreciated ! it is certainly the waiting and not knowing what plan is quicker know can accept and get through it eh ? what made the decision to give chemo ? it says likely with this kind just wondered if most people did with this type sounds like they have.

when I saw my consultant he informed me that with triple negative breast cancer they usually go down the chemotherapy route as there is no definite cause of the cancer, not hormone fed, or protein, or BRAC gene. I think they will probably say the same to you, but I had to wait until February to start then I had infusions every 3 weeks.

i didn't find the chemotherapy as bad as I had imagined. They give you anti sickness meds, I did feel queasy but was never sick. You sense of taste changes and I did eat a lot of salty crackers! The biggest in glamorous problem as constipation !! The first week I couldn't work due to nausea but week 2 and 3 I was back at work. ( I work with the elderly in the NHS). I did do more office based work as your immune system is compromised so you are more vulnerable to germs, and I do community work which meant a lot of driving. My advice is eat what you fancy and drink a lot of fluids. The second type was better I didn't have the nausea.
