cervical cancer

not long found out , is an abortion safe during cervical cancer are there higher risks?

  • Hiya

Definitely worth speaking to your specialist or doctor about this as they'll be able to advise you.

However, if you're on treatment/chemo then your immune system is lowered so your risk of infection is a lot lot higher so that would be a main risk factor. Also bleeding and clotting issues could be a problem as well as disruption to the tissues.

Have a chat with family planning plus your oncology specialist as you definitely won't be the first nor last.

    Wishing you well.

    Kind regards

    Rose

  • Hello Christine and welcome to the forum.

I'm so sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis and the very difficult situation that you find yourself in as a result.

I've had a search through our forum and I can't find any active posts that might be of help to you at the moment but I did want to suggest that you visit the Jo's Trust website. They have an online community and I'm sure that you will be able to connect with other women there who have been in your situation.

I do hope this helps and wish you the very best for all that lies ahead.
