My daughter

Hi, I am new to this so bare with me. My daughter aged 38, was diagnosed with breast cancer in December. She had a lumpectomy on the 18th December where they also too lymph nodes. The lump was 4mm but when we ant back for the results we were told that it was actually 14mm. She therefore had to have further surgery last Thursday 6th. She is not seeing her consultant for another two weeks but today she has found another lump which feels like the previous one and is in the same breast. This lump is small, solid and does not move just like the previous one. She is frantic and doesn't seem to be able to get any answers. Any advice would be greatly appreciated x

  • Hi there  ..

Your daughter should have info and phone numbers of her oncology team/ nurses ... I had loads of booklets and there were lots of numbers .. if not give her G P a ring ... I wouldn't panic though as it could be from all the surgery she's had ...

There's always our nurses or McMillan,  where you can talk to a trained nurse ... it's always best to check .. fingers crossed ... Chrissie x

  • Thank you for your response. My daughter has called her breast cancer nurse but all she said was that she had an appointment in two weeks time so she will have to wait until then. She has told her to put it to the back of her mind. The hospital made a mistake with the size of the tumour so she is not overly confident. I just want to help her get through this but inside I am so scared that the cancer isn't gone. I am so afraid of losing my daughter to this horrid disease just like I did my sister over ten years ago. I really appreciate you taking the time to talk. Thank you.
