NewDiagnosis after bladder surgery

I saw the surgeon post op. yesterday (0.01.2020) after the removal of two tumours in my bladder one of which was very large.

He went on to tell me thatI have advanced cancer in the bladder but could not tell me any more than that because he's a surgeon and not an oncologist. I had no idea that I had any cancrous growths nor have felt any discomfort nor impediment whilst passing water.  It was only in November after I passed aa blood clot and my GP had scans etc., that it was necessary to undergo surgery. It's all been rather a shock for my wife and family.

  • Hello Boyloy,

I am so sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis of advanced bladder cancer.  I can imagine that the news must have come as quite a shock for you and your family and I hope that you can see your oncologist soon and find out more about what it all means exactly and what your treatment plan is going to be. Our information on advanced bladder cancer can be found on this page and I hope that you will find it helpful.

Our nurses are also available on this free number 0808 800 4040 to answer any question you may have. Their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

You have come to the right place to meet others here who have had a similar diagnosis and hopefully someone will be along shortly to share their story with you. I hope that you are recovering well from your surgery.
