BCC

Hi went to the doctor with a sore on face which wouldn't heal to cut long story short it turned out to be a BCC and awaiting to have MOHs Surgery.  Another Mark has appeared on opposite side and I have been fast tracked to see specialist again. Does anybody know if you can have a few BCCs at the same time. I am really stressing now. Any advice would be gratefully recieved.

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Slinger although I'm sorry for the reason you're joining us.

Unfortunately I can't answer that question but you're more than welcome to have a chat with our cancer nurses about this next week. You can contact them on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in similar situations will share their advice and experiences with you soon but do feel free to join in on any other discussions you find about BCCs when using the 'search forum' option in the blue bar above.

Wishing you all the best with your surgery and we'll have our fingers crossed the other mark that's appeared isn't another BCC.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi,

Yes it is possible - once you have had a basal cell it's common to get further ones. They are caused by UV damage so they can keep popping up from damage done over the years of sun exposure. It's good that you are seeing the consultant again - they will sort it out for you.
