  • HiGemini,

It is good news your fathers cancer is still contained withing the prostate. That greatly improves the chance of a sucessful outcome.  I had 37 radiotherapy treatments with few side effects. I found towards the end of the treatmet, I was feeling tired so the nurses told me, just go and lie down for a few minutes. It worked as after about 20-30 minutes later I was okay again.

Just to let you know the hormone therapy can cause mood swings in some men. Sometimes I would hear something on the news and I would be close to tears and there was nothing I could do to stop it. Other men can someting become agngry. Please I dont want to alarm you but just want to make you aware. One of our wood club members thought he was having a breakdown as he would just suddenly burst into tears. I told him not to worry as it was the hormone therapy causing it and he was very relieved.

I was on the hormone therapy for two years and suffered with dont laugh HOT FLUSHES. The amount of times I heard Mrs B say, "Now you know what we women have to go through".

My psa was 70 and the treatment certainly worked for me and I really believe saved mt life so please take heart from my experiance Gemini.

If I can help in any way please dont hestate to ask Take care and best wishes to you both, Brian
