Hi sorry for your sad news. It's a long process and a waiting game. I was diagnosed with throat cancer  in September and started treatment in January. It felt like forever waiting to see how bad it was. I've been told I'm very lucky but I certainly do not feel it.  In my case I had several scans and finally the PET scan which shows any cancer in the whole body. The diagnostics like this are a great advancement but the treatment is the same old harsh treatment it has always been. All you can do is wait for the scan results. The doctors then tell you what they think is the best option. Best of luck.
