Hi everyone
my dad had lost so much weight and had symptoms such as a dry mouth and slight tummy pain he was diagnosed with diabetes type 2 in November(2019)...they gave him insulin and a diet plan to manage it and was doing really well.Dec 19(2019) we hadn't seen dad for 2 days because I have 2 young children and my sister works full time but it was here day off so she picked him up for a planned doctors appointment. When she arrival dads house she rang me in shock because he was so yellow!..at the doctors appointment the doctor said his markers were high and it looked like there was something "nasty" in his pancreas so they fast tracked him and he had a ct scan the next day and had him stay in hospital. They fitted a stent to stop the jaundice and gave him creon-at this point we still didn't know what was going on.The doctors told him he had a mass on his pancreas showing on the ct scam and they did a biopsy.I was thinking pancreatitis or just inflammation due to the diabetes. The hospital rang and asked him to go in yesterday for the results. He has pancreatic cancer stage 4 inoperable.I feel like I can't cope with this information-can't process it -really devistated and in complete shock..hit by a bus feeling!
i never knew that diabetes was a symptom of pancreatic cancer particularly for people my dads age so why didn't they scan him??..I know nobody can answer this but I have so much floating around in my head.
my dad is only 59 how can this happen!!..so confused, can't stop crying-I just can't accept it!...for me a world without my brilliant dad just isn't worth being in.
much love everyone xx
