Hello everyone. I am new to this group and have been reading lots of posts from other people, some have been really helpful.
However, what i have been really trying to find is some sort of answer to life expectancy.
My dad has recently been diagnosed with Lung cancer stage 4. It is NSCLC and has spread to his bones and other parts of his body.
After speaking with the doctor, he has been given a life expectancy of no longer than a year, the doctor said he would be suprised if he survives longer.
so far, we havent had any treatment just yet.
i just can not understand how they can say such a timeframe when he has zero symptoms and is so fine in himself.
i would really like to know if people have been given a timeframe and survived longer, or if maybe you know someone who they have been correct with prognosis.
i understand it is all based on statistics and im unsure as to why i really want to know the answers.
thank you for reading.
