Hi - I had surgery to remove a meningioma last month and all is going well. They had been monitoring it for 2 years but it had grown quickly so it was time to get it out. I was also really scared but a very casual neurologist told me ages ago that it you are going to have a brain tumour, this is the one to have! And actually I'm sure he was right. They aren't all the same - some are in more difficult places to remove, and they vary in size, but relatively speaking I think they are often fine to remove. Remember to think of all the questions you want to ask and take someone else in who can also ask/take notes as it is so difficult to be as smart as you usually are when you are very stressed. Fingers crossed your appt goes well and you are able to feel reassured.
Hi There, thank you so much for replying it's much appreciated it has helped me to read your story I am so glad you are doing well and I wish you all the best for the future, I am hoping to have a neurosurgeon appointment within the week so fingers crossed, many thanks again

Ange!
Thank you very much I wish you the best too and you will continue to do well and I hope you cope with the mental impact, it is playing on my mind alot and although I would have always tried to see the positive in things this has floored me but please god I can beat this I look at my two kids and have to believe I can come through this, you take care and mind yourself and thank you again
Hi
Just to note in case you haven't understood this, meningiomas are hardly ever cancerous so whilst they are a brain tumour, they are very different to other ones. Because of this and because they often grow slowly they may not want to take it out straight away unless it is causing problems.
Hi many thanks but at my neurology appointment he said it has to come out I had a brain mri while in hospital 5 years ago and he thinks he saw the start of it there but at the time it was reported normal so he sent both mri discs for comparison to the neurosurgeon so hoping appointment to know more will be this week thank you again I'm trying to tell myself it will all be good but it's got in on me a bit mentally thank you again
