Lung Cancer

Hello,

My mum was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer this week. I don't know if it's spread but he said it's terminal.

I know she had 2 small clusters on her lung and they took biopsy.

She's seeing the consultant this Friday to talk about chemotherapy

She's 59 and I can't lose her. I just can't

  • Hello Kmoof and welcome to the forum

I'm sorry to hear about your Mum's diagnosis this week. It's understandable that you're feeling worried about things.
It sounds positive that Mum's Consultant is discussing chemotherapy and treatment options to be able to manage things for her. Hopefully the appointment on Friday will answer lots of the questions that I'm sure you have. You might find it helpful to write them down before Friday.
We also have some information on our website here that may be of help to you.

If you'd like to speak to one of our team of nurses at any point then you can call them on 0808 800 4040 (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm). They office is now closed until Friday 27th and then again on New Years Day.
I hope the appointment brings some reassurance on Friday. Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Gaynor,

I'm so sorry about your Mum. I really hope you get a positive outcome.

Unfortunately my Mum died just over 13 weeks ago after just 2 rounds of chemotherapy she had copd and got up to use the bathroom, coughed and devestatingly, the tumor in her lungs ruptured. She passed very fast. I miss her so much. I wish for a better outcome for your mum xx

  • Hi I am so sorry to hear that sending you all my love I cant imagine what you must be going through if you ever need a chat please message me xx

  • Honestly, I'm still a mess. She passed away on my sons 6th Birthday. I kept it together for him so he has a good memory of his birthday. I had to tell my 9yr old before bedtime as she knew something was wrong. It didn't hit my 7yr old till her funeral. They were Nanny's babies. Always will be.

    I miss her so much.

Thank you xx I still struggle to talk about her without crying

  • Hi it's truly heartbreaking and I cant imagine how awful it was life can be so cruel I still feel like it's not real and a bad dream please stay strong and if you ever need anything please just message xxx
