I know how you feel. I was diagnosed with seconary stage 4 liver cancer. After 3chemos it was stopped as cancer had spread so chemo not working. Cancer has spread to  small part of my lung and a small spot on my back but the primary has disappeared.  This is call cancer of unknown primary. i asked for another opinion. They offered me  another chemo but said it only had a 1in4 chance of success and maybe extend life by a few months but not years. So no decent guarantee.

I have decided to wait till after my daughter's wedding in 4 weeks and have booked chemo for then just as a back up. 

The fear with this chemo is I need to be fit enough to take it (they are checking my liver function etc) and it may make what quality of life I have worse!

I'm terrified not to take a chance but the odds are not good. Can't believe I'm having  to even make this decision. It's just incredible. I'm sure you must feel the same. Every emotion there is but at the same time numbness.

I would ask for another opinion just to compare and see what they say. It's worth it.

hi thanks fo sharing your illness with me I’ve had 4 chemos and been in hospital 4times every time I’ve had chemo i’ll lamd up in hospital i’ll had to have two blood transfusions and two platelets transfusions i’ll had to have oxygen i don’t think i’ will live another year and ime scared stiff ime 58 i’ll think ime too young to die. I’ll really hope you get well and enjoy your daughters wedding. 

can i’ll ask why they haven’t offered you and different chemotherapy they told me if this one didn’t work they have about another six to try please ask them to try and different chemotherapy on you. 

Hello I have stage 4 breast cancer spread to the lungs.I am having weekly Paclitaxel since august the tumours are disappearing.When I started chemo I was told if this one is not working we will try another one.

You should  really ask why they dont give You a different one.Its not right they should try different medication.

hi thanks for your reply my treatment is working but it will never completely go but they told me i’ll habe to go three months without treatment and if it comes back aggressively they won’t treat me anymore and let me die. They no i’ll habe aggressive cancer so i’ll feel like they don’t want to give me anymore treatment when they no it’s been clearing a lot of the cancer. Regards jan. 

Hello I am sorry to hear about your situation.My cancer is aggressive too but I was told different story.I can't believe it that they just leave you to die.I find it horrible.They should fight for every single human life.Seems like they writing off people with stage 4 cancer.Cant you get another opinion privately?

Who do I'll ask for another opinion they have now told me that there giving me no more chemotherapy as it will kill me and I'll only have months to live. But asked them if I put some more weight on would they give me more they said maybe. But what baffles me about that is ime still the same weight as when they was giving me chemotherapy xx
