An unexpected journey endometrial cancer

Hi all my lovely new friends that I haven't met yet.

I tend to be a bit of a rambler but please stick with me because I get to the point eventually.

A bit about how I've come to join you.  I'm 51 years old,  married to my best friend.  Sadly we have no children.  I've been perimenopausal for a couple of years and missed my first period around Christmas last year, along with the other usual symptoms. I missed again in July but had normal for me period start of August. 26th August I started again but not proper bleeding, this continued for 4 weeks. I mentioned it to my GP during an unrelated appointment. She set me on this journey with a ultrasound scan which showed possible polyp and extremely thick lining of my womb.  Next was a hysterscopy no polyp, 2 good biopsies taken. 10 days later during the follow up appointment I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. Several CT scans and MRI scans later, I've been told I have stage 2,with spread into my cervix and several lymph nodes.  Due to several major health issues, surgery is not a possibility and at the moment chemotherapy isn't suitable.  I have been put on hormone therapy and have been tattooed and am waiting for a date to start my radiotherapy.  Hope this is ok as an introduction.  Be interesting to hear about other experiences.
