How to cope

I've just been diagnosed with a squamous cell carcinoma and have been advised to have a stoma.  Hope so you cope with this? What's the operation like ? How much pain is there ?  Is it worth it ?  I'm so scared and all people keep saying is that I will be ok and it will be alright, but I'm just so tied up in knots. Any advice ?

    I can see from your previous posts that it's been a really difficult few months for you. I'm sorry that you've been given this diagnosis and that you need surgery.
