Just diagnosed with endometrial cancer

Hi,

Just diagnosed at stage 1, age 43. Feeling ok. Offered fertility sparing treatment, which was a surprise given my age. I think I'll opt for it (although I was more than prepared to have a hysterectomy...). Has anyone had this (tumour removal, mirena coil). I can't seem to find much info about it... any heads up would be much appreciated.

  • Hello Upthejuction,

I am sorry to hear you have been diagnosed with endometrial cancer but it is reassuring news that it is at stage 1 and it's good that you were offered fertility sparing treatment. We have detailed information on our website on endometrial cancer which you can find here and which I hope will answer some of the questions you may have.

You can also find out more about what stage 1 endometrial cancer means and about the treatment options that may be available to you on this page. Don't hesitate to give our nurses a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 if you have any questions. They will be happy to talk to you about all this and give you additional information on this.

I hope other ladies who have been affected by endometrial cancer will be along shortly to share their story with you. We have several active threads such as this recent one on the subject on the forum at the moment which you are welcome to read and respond to if you wish. I thought I would also mention [@Jadey89]‍ who posted here a few months ago and was also diagnosed with stage 1 endometrial cancer and seemed to be in a very similar situation. These are just a couple of examples of other ladies who have been affected by cancer of the womb and I hope you will soon get chatting to them and sharing experiences. It helps to talk to others who are or have been in the same boat.

I hope everything goes well for you and best of luck with your treatment.

    Best wishes,
