Relaxed and ready but tablet problems...

Hi all,

Had a lovely relaxing week away on a cruise and now ready to start my Radiotherapy therapy on Monday.....feeling very nervous but hoping it's not going to be too bad.....

What a nightmare I'm having with my tablets,Oncologist said Tamoxifen then said no and put me on Letrazole but hasn't told my GP who has only got info on me going on Tamoxifen and dispite GP emailing her no reply.... so GP has kindly given me a week of Letrazole Femara as they are the purest and as I have Multiple Sclerosis this brand should hopefully give me less side effects ..... any thoughts or experiences on them I would be so grateful,I can't take more pains than I already have from my MS

Love to all xxx

  • Haha that's a good naughty though, I love that you've done that.  This is the start to a normal life again, well as normal as it can be.  Best therapy ever that.

All went fine, felt like it was a waste of time as all the oncologist said was the same as the surgeons then tells me I'll get a letter for CT appointment and that's when they will tattoo me.  So no dates or anything new since the surgeon.  They also want to do what you had the extra boost... I'm not sold and will sleep on everything.

Other than that been a good day

    Have a lovely evening xxx

  • It was a lovely naughty!!!
What a waste of your time but definitely have the extra 5 days boost as that solely targets where the tumour was,When I spoke to my Radiotherapy reviewer she said that if she ever got breast cancer she would push to have the boost treatment....

Did oncologist not talk to you about what tablets she wants you to take?
Have a lovely evening and please go for the extra boost as another few days is nothing and its literally for 30 seconds!!
    much love Jackie xxx

  • Hi Jackie and JBee hope you're both doing okay. Just done day 9 radiotherapy out of 15. Starting to feel more tired now but so far no soreness. Slapping on the E45. We have soon got into the daily routine but it's over an hour each way so quite tiring for us non spring chickens Nobody has mentioned about extra boost to me, maybe different areas don't all follow the same plans.

Oh well off to bed now as yet another early start in the morning xx

  • Hi Mary,

Into single numbers now!!! Yes the tiredness hits doesn't it....

I think the extra boost is advised from where the tumour was and by all accounts works on small boobed ladies from what they said to me!! My boob looks like I've been sunbathing topless on one side lol

You are nearly there Mary and ring that bell!!

    Sleep well
    Jackie xx

  • Hi Jackie might ask tomorrow when I go, see what they say. Yes I'm on countdown now, what will we do with our mornings after 20th November

just applied my nightly E45 and tucked up in bed. You sleep well too

    Speak soon.

    Love Mary xx

  • Hi Mary,

The Oncologist told me I had to have 20 but my surgeon had written down 15 so was a shock to have to do an extra week but it wasn't a problem, seems strange now that I'm not going back and forth everyday now but feels good apart from the tiredness which I know will pass....

My next appointment is to see Oncologist on 16th December unless my bone density scan comes through before then.
Although tired it feels great and so far so good with the tablets.

Sleep well and another day less after tomorrow!!

  • Well that's day 10 done and dusted. Feeling quite tired this afternoon so having a rest.

Had my Dexascan end of October but they said could take 6 weeks for results to come through.

Glad you are doing ok Jackie and the tiredness will pass eventually.

    Much love

    Mary xx

  • Brilliant Mary!! I slept the clock round last night....and still tired!!

They told me at the hospital it will get worse after about 10 days after treatment finished so I guess I'll be sleeping for 24 hours then Lol .

E45 on for you and rest

    love Jackie xx

  • Hi lovely

tried to concentrate at work today, but to no avail lol yes I will do the boost my friend, you right!! Nope she said she only suggests tamoxifen for me as it will be the best option plus good for my bones, they took a knocking when I had chemo.  I just have to trust them, and stop thinking about it too deep.

Been a busy day so early night for me, but I hope you've had a wonderful day, make the most out of the naughty offers

    Much love to you

    JBee xx

  • Hi Mary

well done you doing great, can't wait to get where you ladies are.  Still waiting for dates to start, so frustrating this wait.  That's a long way to travel for such a short procedure, I'm 12mins away but the road is a terrible one for traffic and took me 45mins yesterday!!

Hope you've had a good day today,

    love always JBee xx
