Relaxed and ready but tablet problems...

Hi all,

Had a lovely relaxing week away on a cruise and now ready to start my Radiotherapy therapy on Monday.....feeling very nervous but hoping it's not going to be too bad.....

What a nightmare I'm having with my tablets,Oncologist said Tamoxifen then said no and put me on Letrazole but hasn't told my GP who has only got info on me going on Tamoxifen and dispite GP emailing her no reply.... so GP has kindly given me a week of Letrazole Femara as they are the purest and as I have Multiple Sclerosis this brand should hopefully give me less side effects ..... any thoughts or experiences on them I would be so grateful,I can't take more pains than I already have from my MS

Love to all xxx

  • Morning Jackie

That's a good tip about drinking lots of water, will make sure I do that. I also have my husband and best friend who will take me but would like to drive myself if I feel up to it. We will see how things go.

My life hasn't been the same since June when I got the results of my routine mammogram and two operations and lots of hospital visits has taken over our lives. Will be great to get to the end of treatment and try to get back to a normal life knowing the cancer has gone. All very worth it in the end.

    Love Mary xx

  • Morning Mary,

I totally understand our lives have been turned upside down this Summer since our mammograms, and it seems our they have been put on hold to get through all the hospital visits, tests and surgery! Hopefully the end is in sight and I'm sure they will keep a close eye on us all with annual mammograms plus the BCN's will always be there for us!!

The cancer has gone and the radiotherapy is a mop up to make sure no little buggers have broken away....

Got to be worth it in the end eh along with the tablets!!

    Much love Jackie xxx

  • Hi Jackie totally agree with everything you say. I feel so lucky that it was discovered early.

Looking forward to a great 2020 and fresh start to the new year.

Have had such brilliant care from everyone I have met this year

  • Hi Mary,

Yes we've been lucky our lumps where found early and it won't be long before we are both done and dusted!
Let's hope we have a happy and healthy 2020!!

I am now inpatient to get these trips to the hospital all done with a positive outcome and feel reassured that they will keep an eye on us all.

Staff are wonderful and so caring.

I can't knock the NHS in the slightest and only thank and praise them for their care.

  • Hey Jackie

how are you, not long to go and you finished right?  Hope it's going well.  I've been busy back at work, still really bruised on one spot was is driving me crazy, hope it goes soon, other than that i have my oncologist appointment on the 12th.  Guess I'll find out then what lovely stuff they have in store for me.

    Best wishes

  • Hi JBee,

All going well, day 13 today!!! It's all over so quick and the staff are really lovely!!

The tiredness starting to kick in now but it's ok....the longest bit is getting you into the right position then they leave you in the room,I just count to myself lol and they are back in before you know it!!

Looking forward to it all being over but in a funny kind of way they are like a security blanket just knowing they are around but they have said that they will always be there for us.

My Hospital plays music while you are in on your own,it's so quick you don't even. hear the whole song before they are back in!!

I will be finished before you start so let's keep in touch and I can answer any questions you may have, and tell you how it feels when it's all over.....

E45 cream slapping it on 2-3 times a day really helps.

    Love Jackie xxx

  • Hey I'm always so pleased to hear you doing well. You really are close to finishing, yup I got E45 in stock   you making it sound like a holiday hsha I hope this bruising of mine goes before then.  At least I'm getting really good comfortable sleeps now ... important since I'm back at work.  Thank goodness they have been excellent.  We definitely will keep in touch, I'm counting on you to keep me focused on the pole dancing!!

Rest up lovely lady you deserve it
