Relaxed and ready but tablet problems...

Hi all,

Had a lovely relaxing week away on a cruise and now ready to start my Radiotherapy therapy on Monday.....feeling very nervous but hoping it's not going to be too bad.....

What a nightmare I'm having with my tablets,Oncologist said Tamoxifen then said no and put me on Letrazole but hasn't told my GP who has only got info on me going on Tamoxifen and dispite GP emailing her no reply.... so GP has kindly given me a week of Letrazole Femara as they are the purest and as I have Multiple Sclerosis this brand should hopefully give me less side effects ..... any thoughts or experiences on them I would be so grateful,I can't take more pains than I already have from my MS

Love to all xxx

  • WOW you are lucky I looked like a Smurf and Wes weekng blue lol,

That's how I was,no pain but bruised and some of the blue dye is still on my boob after all these weeks!!

Radiotherapy going fine apart from my arms aching but what a nightmare this morning, took 3 hours round trip for a 12 minutes appointment....

So pleased you are doing so well!!! Just think it's gone now and just the mop up of the radiotherapy and the tablets to take!!

    Love Jackie x

  • Hi there all

i am still a nice shade of turquoise and have been told it will be a long time before it disappears. Had my CT scan on Monday for radiotherapy and got my 3 tattoos! Will be starting my radiotherapy on 31 October for 15 sessions. Also have over an hour's journey each way to the hospital. Looking forward to getting on with the radiotherapy now and put it all behind me.

Been on Anastrazole now for over four weeks and apart from a few hot flushes all seems good. Have to have a DEXA bone scan on 28 October to check how my bones are looking.

All in all it has been an eventful summer and diagnosed unexpectedly from a routine mammogram. I am feeling so lucky and I have a great team of people around me at the hospital.

Lets all keep in touch and follow each other's progress.

    Love Mary xx

  • Wow funny how it affects us all differently, I kept looking for the blue but nothing haha

my goodness that's a long journey for just 12mins!! Why are your arms aching... the pole??

Thank you yes I'm even contemplating going to work next week, two weeks is making me feel like a fraud and I should be doing work not watching Netflix lol

Hope your arms ease up, it's not like you've not had enough to deal with!!

    Big hugs

  • Hi Mary,

So pleased you are doing well!! Yes a bit of my boob is still blue....

Glad everything is moving on for you,I've just done day 4 of radiotherapy and all going well, and having been slapping the cream on about 3 times a day as don't want the burn on it....

What a summer we've all had but are now coming through it all together eh!!!

    Take care

    love Jackie x

  • Yes it's the poles making my arms ache as you have to hold the pole while they get the measurements right everytime and then they go out and zap you which is for all of about 2-3 minutes!!!
Whole appointment slot is 12 minutes! The 2 hospitals near us can't do it so have to travel way out which is a pain but hey ho,1st week nearly done,Yayyy

    Love Jackie x

  • Yes you ploughing through this!!! I hope I do the same.  Not looking forward to the pole already haha I bet those 2-3 mins feel like 30mins!,

What a shame nothing is close by, are you driving yourself?  I don't drive so will have to rely on friends and family giving me lifts x
