Grade 2 lobular breast cancer- all advice & support please

Hi all,

I’m 32 and was diagnosed with grade 2 lobular carcinoma HR+ Her- at the start of September. I unfortunately as it seems with lobular had no proper lump. My nipple I can only describe was slightly pulled in/saggy. It was all very subtle.

The ultrasound showed nothing behind the nipple, and  area of 15mm possible fibrosis and a small 9mm which I was told was 50/50 a cancer. Nodes normal. The results showed areas both positive for invasive lobular.

The next day I had an MRI and mammo which showed a non mass like area of distortion of 4cm. Nodes normal.

So I happily had a mastectomy and sentinal node biopsy. Recovered very well all good.

However, I got my results during the week and now it’s multifocal over 70mm. And they one sentinal node they took ( they thought they took two) is positive with a macromet. I can’t describe my shock. I’m having axillary clearance this week. I’m waiting on my bone scan but my CT TAP is provisionally reported as clear. I will now more than likely need the full chemo, radiation and hormone treatment which I can’t wait to get started on to get this all behind me.

I was just wondering if any lobular ladies could offer any advice, support and big virtual hugs please x

I was diagnosed on 16 September with grade 2 Lobular BC.  It was found by chance I went to breast clinic with an issue with my right breast and this has been found in my left I had no symptoms.  I have had a 1.6mm cancer removed.  Had a MRI which showed two more areas one 2cm the other 3cm they think one area is cancer and 1 area they are unsure of.  They give me my options and I have decided to have a mastectomy which I will have on 8 October.  Unsure on my lymph nodes have had a needle biopsy.

I am pleased you have recovered well after your mastectomy.  I hope your get good results from the rest of your tests.  Let me know how you get on.

    Good luck xxx
