DCIS

Hello

i has an operation in August to remove multiple paplommas in the milk ducts and total duct excision. The biopsy showed a 4mm High grade DCIS. I need to have the operation again as the margin of clear tissue was just under 1mm and they need at least 1mm

im worried about them finding more and I’m worried about the result and very likely reconstruction and whether I should be being offered radiotherapy. 

Anyone who has any experience of this I would be so frateful

    Welcome to the forum and I'm sorry to hear that you need some further surgery. It's natural that you're feeling worried about what the next steps might be. 

    We've quite a few ladies on here who have been diagnosed with DCIS or have needed to have a further surgery for clear margins. You might find it helpful to post on this thread here or this thread here both of which are recently active. I'm sure that if you post some of the ladies will pop by to say Hello and share their experiences of treatment.
