Thanks for your message, it gives me hope that the outcome for my mother will be the same.

Hi
My husband has just been diagnosed with t2 T2 oesophgus cancer. They've suggested he has chemo first then in about 5 months time have the operation. We are so scared that if he has the chemo and it doesn't work then in 5 months time it would have spreD. They said if he goes straight for surgery there could be a chance it returns. Please can you give me some advice? We just want it cut out but we obviously don't want it to return either. We just don't know what to do .
Hi
How are you finding chemotherapy? My husband has just been diagnosed with T2 oesophgus cancer and they've suggested chemo before surgery but we don't know what to do.
Hi Chris
yes I had 4 lots of chemo first then a month off had ct scan and pet scan to see if cancer had shrunk luckily enough it had shrunk and was granted the surgery
I'm now post op 12 months everything goin fine
i noticed after the first session is that I could swallow foods I struggled with I e bread and meat
you just have to stay positive and take it step by step it's the only way and hopefully it will come good for you
thanks
msrk
Hi
I understand you want it just out I was the same but the chemo flot is very strong
it shrunk my cancer so I could have the op
you have to go with the chemo I think it's standard practice I had 4 lots of flot chemo first then had ct and pet scan to see if it had shrunk luckily enough it had shrunk and they granted me the surgery
had your husband had any other tests done too see if surgery is viable
always stay positive and take every step one by one it's the only way
thanks

Hey Niccod,
I noticed you were hoping to get some advice from others on this discussion so I just wanted to let you know that may not happen as this discussion hasn't been active in over 5 years.
If you don't hear back from anyone, you could try reaching out to others on more recent discussions you find about oesophageal cancer that are on the forum, or you can start your own.
Kind regards,
