Lung cancer

Hi,

My mother in law has been diagnoised with lung cancer few days ago, the tumor is 6cmx8cm, so very big. She has been told they cannot remove it, her general health is not great (diabities, only one kidney working) she is very worried that there is no hope for her. To make it worse, she lives in Poland and all her children live in UK. She usually spends half a year in UK with us, she is registered at GP. Do you think she has any chance to be treated or at least supported by NHS if she would stay her in UK with us? Of course we will be taking tunrs to be with her in Poland, but I am sure it would be better if she will be here with us the whole time. Thank you in advance. xx

  • Hi maggie_81,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to read about your mother in law. Unfortunately I'm not sure of the answer to your question, or the differences in healthcare between Poland and the UK.

If you'd like to discuss anything with our nurses, you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5. They may be able to better advise.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
