Hiya
I've been recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma and the only symptoms I had were raised nodes in my groin
Apparently I could have had this for years undedected.
You're in good hands now and you will get through this.
Wishing you well
Just diagnosed struggling with first chemo do people have good days at all
Hi Rory
Sorry you have found yourself here, there is usually a whole range of emotions most of us go through when a diagnosis is made. Then there are all the tests etc, before a treatment plan is in place.
I personally found it useful to talk to people around me - One of the website i found useful was Lymphoma Action. Your life can feel if its on hold at times !!!!
There are so many diffrent types of Lymphoma - dont try and research until you know the type.
Mine was B cell lymphoma - i had just radiotherepy directly on the facial skin lesion.
Now into my 4 years of 5 years plan - without any further issues.
Good luck on your tests - waiting for the results is /can stressful
Tom
Hi Ross
Thanks very much for your reply.
I was getting swollen stomach and abdomen pain, crazy night sweats and the runs after any food.
How are you getting on what treatment are they offering you.
Regards
Rory
Hi Tom
That is so positive thanks for taking the time out to tell me this. I very much appreciate it.
Some crazy symptoms and sweats just now.
Feel in total lymbo awaiting further tests.
Kind regards
Rory
Hi Mandya
Your a stage ahead of me, just waiting on last tests next week then it's my turn. Think mine is quite advanced with Lymphoma.
How are you coping. Are you very sick.
Kind regards
Rory
Hiya
That sounds nasty you poor thing, it'll be so much better once they fix up what's wrong and start some treatment.
I'm on ABVD for 6 months - I go in every two weeks and get everything put in through my PICC line. The first week after the first dose was the worst as everyone reacts differently and I had terrible nausea which the basic tablets they had given me did nothing to help. Luckily there's so many other medications out there to help and I was put on cyclizine and touch wood the nausea is far improved. I get a damn sore mouth for three days after treatment but then everything seems to settle down and by the second week in feeling more myself.
Lymphoma treatments have been looked into a great deal and there's a lot of emphasis on how many options are around to ease side effects. There's no need to struggle, as I found out!
Also I can't comment myself as I didn't suffer b symptoms but many people say after a couple of doses their sweats etc. Start to ease off!
Sending you well wishes
