Just spotted your post and thought I would drop by. I was diagnosed with grade 3 IDC and they think it’s in two lymph nodes from the scans I’ve had. 

I didn’t really feel a lump, my breast just felt different, turns out it’s quite big and the size is still only estimated despite the scans. I’m interested in the suspicious area you have as I have been told I have a suspicious internal mammory node, however not had a biopsy done on it yet, they are seeing if it responds to treatment or not. I know how you feel about things changing, several things changed for me over a few weeks, I found it quite stressful as you get your head around it then something else is thrown into the mix. One of my scans showed I had appendicitis, so had to have that removed before I started any treatment. 

My plan is chemo, mastectomy, radiotherapy, tamoxifen. And I have just finished cycle 5 out of 6 cycles of chemo and pleased to say my lump has gotten smaller , I’ve got an mri this week to hopefully confirm the size. 

Its a worrying time waiting for results, I’ve found it useful to stay away from google and use this forum or my care team as they have recent experiences.

oh goodness, things seem even less certain for you.  I don’t know how you’ve been coping! 

They haven’t said that the intermammery node is an issue yet. I think I’m the MRI it flagged up as an area of concern because it wasn’t obvious from the MRI that it was an intermammery node.  

Did they not do biopsys on the two lymph nodes in your armpit? Are they just bluntness to remove them during surgery and then they will determine what is / was going on?  It’s crazy how different things are at different hospitals. 

Does your tumour feel the size they say it is? Mine feels a bit like how you describe yours. Hardened area.  Wasn’t the original plan 

You’ve already done 5 out of 6 rounds of chemo? You absolute trooper. How’s it been for you?

yes they did biopsies on the armpit, so will have them removed when I have the mastectomy.  I can’t really feel the tumour any more to be honest, so I’m hoping that it’s significantly smaller than when I had my first MRI.

Chemo has been interesting, the first three rounds were ok, few side effects, all manageable.  The last two have been a bit tougher, still manageable however my temp has spiked both times so I have been admitted to hospital as a precaution and given anti biotics, but I have felt ok.  The worst thing is thinking your healthy and realising that you are quite tired and can’t do as much as you think you can, loss of my taste buds is absolutely driving me crazy as it’s now affecting my appetite, and achy joints but I have painkillers for that. I can’t wait to get the last one out of the way. 

I am convinced something else will pop up into the mix at some point, but I guess uncertainty goes with the territory.

Well done met, atleast nearly first battle. I just had my first cycle on Thursday. Mine is FEC  3 cycles then followed by Pit.... weekly for 12 weeks.i dont know only God knows. Mine turmor was 4.4cm before treatment very hard on top followed by dimple by side then jelly like underneath.  So far checking like something is happening,  feel different even the discomfort feelings is not there any more.i used to pack ice cubes in gloves n press it on tumour just to feel better on journey of waiting for treatment. 

Side effects as of now not too bad my taste buds was awful on 6th day but 7 th day am ok taste ok and eat ok only heartburn alot. Sometimes have to swallow bicarbonate of soda. 

What a season of life we are in now but we just encourage ourselves no season stays forever,  it comes and goes.
